The Dipolog City Parole and Probation Administration is located at Brgy. Dicayas, Dipolog City.
The Dipolog City Parole and Probation Administration is one of those branches of correctional agencies of the Philippines mandated by the virtue of Adult Probation Law of 1976.
This correctional and probation center has a trained and highly professional personnel committed to reform and correct individuals proven to be offenders of justice or those under the state of retribution who had partly paid their sentence. Reformation and rehabilitation shall be conducted through implementation of disciplinary programs and imposition of proper conduct as mandated by law and as what is being demanded by the social norm. These steps shall gear towards the promotion of social justice as well as elation of personal enlightenment and development to those who were once considered as criminal offenders.
Additionally, the City Parole and Probation Administration serves as the primary government confinement for first-time offenders, parolees and pardonees. Community-based treatment programs are being applied and innovative techniques and interventions are being utilize in shaping convicted offenders so as to recognize their divine destiny without deflating their dignity as man.
In 2005, the City Parole and Probation Administration has been mandated to perform another function. By virtue of a Memorandum of Agreement with the Dangerous Drugs Board pursuant to Republic Act No. 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 the agency now serves as the rehabilitation of first-time minor drug offenders.
Drug offenders are treated using a therapy model with a synchronized and focus structure to help them become law-abiding and productive individuals. The therapy includes counseling, values and moral formation, livelihood and skills training, and sports and physical fitness.
The City Parole and Probation Administration is under the umbrella of the Department of Justice that gears towards the reduction, or if possible the total elimination of recidivism incidence in correctional institutions.
