City General Services Office

The City General Services Office is a mandatory office under the republic Act 7160 to every province and city.

From the term ‘general’, this office manages the acquisition, maintenance, safekeeping, utilization and disposal of the properties, supplies, and real and movable assets of the local government unit concerned.

This office has six divisions; Administrative Division, Record Divisions, Property and Supply Division, Marriage License Division, Miscellaneous Civil Registry Division and Public Services Division.

The scope of functions for each division is elaborated as follows.

The Administrative Division takes charge of administrative activities and services functions of the office, relative to the Human Resource Development and Management. It handles the budget proposals and ensures proper dissemination of equipment and facilities. It formulates administrative guidelines in improving existing systems for effective and efficient delivery of services.

The Record Division is tasked to formulate strategic plans and policies in keeping records effectively and efficiently. This division sorts out records for preservation of important files and disposal of valueless documents. It provides information to the people relative to city’s archive.

The Property and Supply Division is in–charge of the physical inventory of government vehicles and office equipment. Post repair of vehicles and equipments as well as renewal of its LTO registrations and insurances of government properties such as vehicles, firearms, handheld radios, and buildings are being taken care of by the personnel assigned in this division. They also serve as facilitator of property clearances so as to insure property accountabilities.

While the maintenance and repair of electric facilities and lightings in City Government buildings and other city’s public property falls under the control of Public Services Division. This division aims to provide basic services of general scope and facilities based on the approved development plan in the city government. They are in–charge in the collection of garbage and maintains the cleanliness and beautification of Plaza Magsaysay, Public Cemetery and other public places. They expand lighting facilities particularly street lights especially in the main thoroughfares of the city. They ensure that public offices and places have adequate water supply and each barangay has deep wells to insure that all Dipolognons, even those living outside the city proper boundaries has potable and safe water to use.

The City General Services Office is located at 3rd floor of City Hall Building, Rizal Avenue corner Herrera Street, Brgy. Central, Dipolog City. It is headed by Alice Calague.
