The City Cooperative Office is created to promote integrity, accountability, proper management of public affairs and public property in the local government unit concerned. In Dipolog City, it is headed by Mr. Nelson Rendoque. The City Cooperative Office is situated at Gen. Luna corner Calibo Street, Dipolog City.
The City Cooperative Office functions as the lead government agency on cooperative promotion, development and regulation. The office coordinates to all government agencies which has cooperative programs in order promote and develop the cooperative regulations. The body also takes charge in performing any actions that cover the needs of the public for cooperative development and in livelihood funding which aim to accomplish a sustainable economic development.
To reach their aim, the City Cooperative nurtures the well-being of the citizens by making them self-reliant through developing regular livelihood programs that help improve their quality of life. The office also offers organizational support to targeted beneficiaries and organized cooperatives to aid the positive growth of the economy of the local government unit concerned.
In order to fully perform their responsibility the City Cooperative Office has four divisions, namely: Administrative Division; Education and Promotion Division; Records Division; and the Special Projects Division.
The City Cooperative Office also provides technical and professional assistance to the city, as well as to aid in generating funds for the potentially viable livelihood projects that guarantee a feasible growth in the economy. The City Cooperative also proposes economically profitable livelihood projects together with non-cooperative organizations.
The City Cooperative offers service assistance and interventions when necessary for different organizations which have livelihood program proposals. These services cover social preparation to market, technical support, study for project preparation, guide business,if needed or required, and to introduce funds and links and other selective audit assistance.
Further, the City Cooperative Office formulates comprehensive plans and programs on cooperative development while taking into account its consistency with the national goal and the overall socioeconomic development plans of the local government unit concerned. before the implementation of any programs and projects, the City Cooperative Office seeks the approval of the local chief executive and the Sangguniang Panlungsod council.
