P64M infrastructure projects of Dipolog City ongoing

Up to P64 Million pesos infrastructure projects are currently being constructed by the city government of Dipolog.     

Among the projects allocated with the funds is the completion of the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex Site Development in Brgy. Olingan. This includes finishing the secondary level of stairs on both right and left side of the said complex, construction of the drainage system and embankment of the road and oval of the Sports Complex costing about P11 Million pesos. Aside from the sports complex, the other projects covered by the funds include the construction of Livelihood Skills Development Enhancement Center (LSDEC) Dormitory in Galas; establishment of the Phase I of City Social Welfare Office; construction of the Miputak- Sta. Isabel diversion road worth P13 Million pesos; and building of irrigation facilities (canalization and dam structure) on Brgy. Diwan estimated around P19 Million pesos.

Other ongoing projects include road opening and concreting; developing of Dipolog City Memorial Garden; rehabilitation of the public edifice like the Fish Processing Building and Dipolog City Central Market Bldg. B; and the construction and concreting of additional drainage system in the city.

Some projects allotted with P9 Million pesos had already been completed in March this year. These projects include the main gate and roads of Dipolog Sports Complex; 100 units of concrete burial area in Dipolog Memorial Garden; concreting of San Jose Barangay road; and, lastly, the construction and rehabilitation of the road, bridges and spillways in Dipolog.

According to Engr. Richard Kagatan, the acting OIC City Engineer, the completion of the Dipolog Sports Complex is very important because it serves as one of the preparation the city government is undertaking for the upcoming activities and events at the sports complex such as the Palaro, PBA Games, boxing, and others planned to take place in the city.
