Dipolog City 16th P’gsalabuk Festival Formally Opens

The 16th P’gsalabuk Festival, under the theme “Unity Amidst Diversity”, formally opens with a motorcade show that cruised around the city proper last May 2.   

Mayor Evelyn T. Uy led the motorcade which was participated by employees of both the local government of Dipolog, provincial government, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, barangay officials of the 21 barangays in Dipolog and other factions. The motorcade assembled and started at Plaza Magsaysay then passed around the City of Dipolog and ended at Dipolog Sunset Boulevard where a formal program and other amusements were held.  

During the said event, City Councilor Jasmin N. Pinsoy delivered her Welcome Address while Mayor Uy and City Councilor Kenny V. Ong gave their heartfelt messages. Their speeches were followed by several presentations like dance and song production number from the Folkloric Dance Troupe Community Rondalla, which provided entertainment to those witnessing the event. Along the opening of the 16th Dipolog P’gsalabuk Festival, Ordinance No. 13-245 otherwise known as “The Non-Compostable Plastic Bag/Styrofoam Products Ordinance” was formally implemented together with the ribbon cutting and opening of the Visual Art Exhibit held at Casa Bernardo on the same day.   

The 16th P’gsalabuk Festival and the “Kilom-Kilom” The Dipolog Sunset Celebration will take place from May 2 to May 31. Several activities are lined up by the local government of Dipolog to celebrate the festival. The schedule of activities are as follows:

May 3 – Three Red Arrows BAND (101) where the local army and soldiers will give their presentation like conducting the Static Display. This event will commence at 4 pm to continue onwards.

May 9 – Poetry Reading promoted by Zamboanga del Norte Press Club.

May 10 – Chalk Art & Coco Installation Art 3rd “Ivabelle Awards 2014 (Ta’ Glibon Ini Lady Art Collective)

May 16 – P’gsalabuk Festivities

May 17 – Dipolog City Fiesta

May 23 – Concert Dipolog Teacher’s Choir

May 31- REVAMP 3 (Ta’ Glibon Ini Lady Art Collective)

All Dipolognons are encouraged to witness and attend the activities of the 16th Pagsalabuk Festival for the whole month of May.
